MYTHOLOGY: It
was found in the Minas Gerais (Brazil) crystal pink tourmaline (rubellite) of 109
cm. pink tourmaline crystals are known to 40 cm in length
in the district of Alto flirty (California, E.E.UU.), the pink tourmaline appears in various
jewelry like those of the sixteenth century in the russian
crown posing as rubies. Moreover, it is considered that much of the
"considered" Ruby from South America during the Portuguese
colonization might actually pink
tourmalines or rubellites. The tourmaline has both pyroelectric and piezoelectric
properties, this means that both ends opposite charges
accumulate as much when heated under pressure. The tourmalines were
introduced in Western and Central Europe in 1703 by the Dutch who imported it
from Ceylon.
